Professor iyayi who was a one time asuu chairman died as a result of a car crash sometime last 2 weeks enroute the Nec of Asuu to determine the status of the yet to be called off strike Asuu embarked on since july 2nd.
Professor iyayi and some colleagues were heading for a meeting before the ill fated accident caused by the convoy of the Kogi state Governor. The exact cause of the accident is still yet to be discovered as eye witness reports and possible medical reports seem to be contradicting.
Eye witness claim a part of the convoy hit the car of prof iyayi which eventually left him dead while some reports have it that he died as a result of multiple wounds on his chest. The family of the late professor are said to haven fixed a date for the burial without too much pressure about the details of his autopsy. If professor iyayi was murdered is still a fact that cannot be claimed with authority so it leaves Nigerians with the opinion that he was murdered by people who are apparently above the law.
