Corporate-Street-Boy Meets the Greatest!: Active Student Politician Who Bags A first Class. (Dominic Nwobi)

I met this student in 2010, we came into the university almost at the same time... Since day one till this day, this individual has vibrancy and victory as key words to live a life...
I did all I could to get an interview with him, I am happy he gave me an opportunity to discuss issues before leaving for NYSC in Abuja on the 5th of may 2015.

Below is an aftermath of the interview.........

Corporate- Street-Boy: Could You tell me About Yourself?

Dominic : I am known as Nwobi Dominic and I am a Bsc Holder in public administration of the faculty of management science in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka , Anambra state

Corporate-Street-Boy : Please do me the favor of telling me about your background?

Dominic : I hail from ifite-dunu in dunukofia LGA in Anambra state. I was born in kastina state to the family of Mr and Mrs Nwobi on the 8th of August in the late 1980's. I am the last child in a family of 4 sons and a girl.
I had my primary education in local government education authority primary school in Abuja.
My secondary school education was in Government day secondary school in Akwanga, Nasarawa State..
Then obviously, I came into UNIZIK in 2010 and got my BSC in 2014.

Corporate-Street-Boy: Can you tell me briefly about your experiences with Educational institutions?

Dominic: Education has been an interesting venture.. In my primary school, over 90 percent of my class mates were smart, so this embedded me with a competitive Spirit. In secondary school, it was a little bit different, the effects of the environment and the challenges of my health at that point, made secondary school challenging. I later became the labour prefect which was also stressful but developing too, secondary school ended successfully I must say....
My days in the university....
( pauses and re-adjusts)
These days were simply adventurous, fun and interesting. My experiences from my day one in UNIZIK cannot be forgotten. I came into the university with so much experience of a young man who wasn't looking like a typical jambite* I settled in so fast into the social, political and academic sectors of the university, this lead to lots of achievements academically, socially, politically and otherwise.

Corporate-Street-Boy: I think You involved so much in politics, can you tell me some of your personal experiences?

Dominic: I have always had a desire to serve the people as I have seen service to humanity as the essence of my creation. This has always made me make myself prepared and available to be used as an instrument of getting things done. Being trained in the discipline of public administration was no mistake, it was a mission to make myself better in the art of service rendering.

Corporate-Street-Boy: I almost believe with the crowd, who think you gave more time to politics than your academics, while in the university. can you hint me on this?

Dominic: ( pauses, smiles and continues)
well, if I say no to this, I would be lying. I will be truthful, I gave politics more time. it was like a 70/30 thing. Though I gave time to my studies and graduated with a first class, It is not to mislead students, politics took most of my time which lead to an exposure to awards and positions which have given me a basket full of experience, exposure and confidence...

Corporate-Street-Boy: Talking about Awards and positions, can you give us details about them please?

Dominic: (laughs) you really want me to mention them? They are numerous, but since you want details, let me start with the awards.
I had the award for
Best student activist by the students judicial council 2014
The award for an outstanding executive (Angel Max hostel ifite, awka) 2012.
The SUG best legislature of the year 2012.
A Pillar of Development Award given by the National Association Of public Administration Students UNIZIK in 2013.
An Award of Excellence by faculty of art students association UNIZIK 2014.
Award of Excellence by National Association of philosophy students UNIZIK 2013.
Award for outstanding performance and excellence given by the National Association of public administration students UNIZIK in 2014.
I think that's all I can remember about awards, For the positions....
I held the following positions while in UNIZIK...
- I was the President of Oxford Hostel ifite 2010/2011
- 3 times president of Angel Max Hostel in ifite from 2011- 2014
- I was also the students representative council representative for my department at the legislative arm of the SUG UNIZIK in 2012.
- I was the Majority leader of the SRC in UNIZIK two times in 2012 and 2013.
- I became the founder and chairman of the ifite-hostel presidents forum ( An area where more than 60 percent of the students reside.)
- In my final year, it was almost time to retire, so with my wealth of experience, even when I had to focus, I had to subdue to the urge, so I accepted and became the special Adviser of the president of the National Association of public administration students in 2014 until I graduated.
I thank God all these positions and awards gave me abilities to serve and develop both myself and my environment simultaneously.

Corporate-Street-Boy: Wow, what a wonderful record I must say... So After your life as a student, What's running on your mind now?

Dominic: Thanks a lot, for starters, am leaving for service in the FCT on may 5, 2015. After camp, no time to waste, I am eager to serve. So I will send my resume and applications to various corporations, institutions, groups and parastatals. Even though I know there could be possibilities of the university retaining me, I would like my future to be in the hands of God Almighty. I just want and need to be a valuable and reliable instrument of development to the people and the society.

Corporate-Street-Boy: At a time like this, having set a record like this, what's your advice to students and youths in General?

Dominic: I really like to tell people to take whatever you do serious, as long as it is within the confines of the law. Be determined to excel against all odds because determination leads to success. As you and I can see, I paid attention to my academic schedule which resulted to me having a first class honors. I also involved positively with the society which gave me experience and recognition politically and socially.

Corporate-Street-Boy: Before you leave, Can you tell us what we can expect of you in another 5 years?

Dominic: (Smiles and Laughs) By God's grace, I want to say like a musician did say " I see greatness written all over me" By God's grace I must in the next 5 years be serving the public in a very effective position.

Corporate-Street-Boy: It was nice to have you around, we pray God Almighty continues to make the greatness in you continue to shine and multiply.

Dominic: Thank you So much... It was nice to have you too.

Corporate-Street-Boy: Thank You and Good Luck at Camp.
